Lafayette Hotel & Suites is a San Diego landmark -- an historic property
that dates back to the Golden Days of Hollywood, whose most glamorous
stars came night after night to what was the resort hotel's fashionable
Mississippi Ballroom to drink, dine and dance to the music of Ted Fio
Rito and other top-drawer big bands. The Mississippi Ballroom is now a
popular Wedding and Banquet Hall.
The Lafayette offers AMSD concert-goers and our performers a GREAT
deal: deeply discounted room rates for a variety of room configurations,
all suites.
This hotel is only 5 minutes from our venue, as well as from Balboa Park
and the zoo -- and it's only a few minutes more to downtown, Petco Park,
The Gaslamp District, the convention center and the waterfront.
Make sure you ask for the "AMSDconcerts" rate when making your
reservations -- and please let us know how your stay was.
Mountain Printers, located in Spring Valley, is owned by Bill and Michelle
Spurlock. Bill and Michelle are fans of acoustic music, and attended a few
of our concerts after they began doing some of our printing. We've now
established a friendship, and a business relationship that will see them
doing most of our printing -- and, I hope, attending even more of our
concerts.
We recommend Mountain Printers for ALL of your printing and copying
needs. Tell 'em we sent you!

Once again, San Diegans have lost -- temporarily -- the
excellent radio show Music Without Boundaries. Apparently,
finding two hours a week to air a show like this is too hard for
one of the five million stations that "serve" (is there an
emoticom for SARCASM?) a market in which the airwaves are
filled with a lot of crap, but precious little quality.
No wonder so few San Diegans know most of the artists we
present in concert
.

DiMille's Italian Restaurant, at 3492 Adams Avenue, is a 60 second walk
from the concert venue.
DiMille's and AMSDconcerts have created a Dinner Package offering a
choice of one of seven great meals and tickets in the front rows. We love
their food and their service, and we're sure you will, too.

News & Commentary for the Folk, Roots & Singer-Songwriter Communities
Patrick Carney is an artist whose work focuses on musicians,
and whose pieces are found in the collections of many famous
musicians. Beginning in late 2008, we've been fortunate and
honored to have Patrick display a lot of his work at AMSD
concerts. And in keeping with his generous nature, Pat (and, at
times, his wife) has helped out as a volunteer staff member
when we were short-staffed.
Check out his web site, and his artwork -- on his web site, at
AMSD shows and at showings he has at galleries around the
area.
